The public are invited to an open day of a therapeutic balcony garden at Corbett Outpatient Centre which has been developed to help patients develop their sensory needs.
The open day, taking place in the Rehabilitation Centre on Thursday 10th August 2017, is an opportunity to find out how donations from patients and the hard work of volunteers helped transform a bare, unused balcony to a space that benefits patients.
Senior Occupational Therapist Erika Keshelya, who helped kick off the balcony garden project, said members of the public can take a tour of the garden to see the difference it is making not only to our patients but also to their families and our staff.
“The garden encourages sensory development and provides patients with a peaceful outdoor space,” said Erika.
“We received funding from The Dudley Group NHS Charity and donations from Wilko, Highdown Nursery and Brookfield Nursery. Patients and staff also donated plants and crafts to the garden,” she added.
The event runs from 1.30pm until 3.30pm in the Rehabilitation Centre in Corbett Outpatient Centre in Stourbridge.
