The Dudley Group shortlisted for Student Nursing Times Award
The Dudley Group has received national recognition from the Student Nursing Times Awards by making this year’s shortlist.
The Trust’s learning disability simulation pathway has been shortlisted in the category of Student Experience.
The simulation pathway, which is a programme developed to improve education, helps student nurses to understand the needs of people with a learning disability when they visit hospital.
Dudley Voices for Choice, a user led charitable organisation that supports people with learning disabilities, co-produced a series of sessions with the Trust to give students valuable experience around how to improve their clinical skills within wards at Russells Hall Hospital.
“I am so proud of all our hard work to help improve the experience for our patients with learning disabilities and it is fantastic that our student nurses have found the sessions so useful,” said Jacqui Howells, learning disability liaison nurse.
Winners will be announced on Thursday 26th April at the awards ceremony in London.
