The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust’s Breast Care Unit at Russells Hall Hospital welcomed fundraiser and previous patient Gina Gray, she is a wedding photographer by trade.
She presented a cheque for an incredible £10,000 donation to the unit’s charitable fund which is part of the Dudley Group NHS Charity. Gina raised this fantastic amount by hosting an event at the Copthorne Hotel attended by over 500 women, she wanted to show her appreciation for the care she received while undergoing treatment earlier this year.
Gina said: “I wanted to give something back to say thank you for the incredible care I received, but I also wanted to raise awareness for early diagnosis.” Nurse consultant Rachael Willetts for the unit said: “This fantastic donation will go a long way to make things better in our department. One of the projects on our wish list is the refurbishment of non-clinical counselling rooms where we discuss diagnosis and treatment plans with our patients, we want to create relaxing spaces where our patients can feel comfortable. We are so grateful to Gina’s generous donation for making this
possible.”
