A clinical nurse specialist from The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust will be at Merry Hill on Thursday 30th March advising shoppers on how to spot the signs of ovarian cancer.
Members of the public are encouraged to take part in the Q&A session and find out more about the disease and its symptoms as part of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer in women. Each year in the UK, more than 7,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Survival rates have almost doubled in the last 40 years in the UK. Sadly over 55 per cent of cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage and this can make treatment more difficult.
Clinical Nurse Specialist Sarah Homer and the Trust’s local cancer support group will be at Marks and Spencer in the Dudley shopping centre from 10am until 2pm.
