On Thursday 5th December, the ballot for The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust’s Council of Governors election closed, with one returning and five new governors elected.
The Council of Governors comprises of people of all ages and backgrounds who value the continued development of the Trust. The council represents the interest of the Trust’s many members and its partner organisations and helps it carry out its duties in ways that meet NHS values and regulations.
The final results were:
o Public – Brierley Hill – Phil Tonks
o Public – Halesowen – Julius Adams
o Public – Stourbridge – Alex Giles
o Staff – Nursing & Midwifery –Anand Letha
o Staff – Nursing & Midwifery – Lyndsay Millington
Alex Giles was re-elected for his second term. At the same time, Anand Letha, Lyndsay Millington, Phil Tonks and Julius Adams were elected for the first time – both Anand and Lyndsay join as non-contested candidates.
Chief executive, Diane Wake, said: “It is great to welcome new and returning faces to our Council of Governors.
“Their passion and enthusiasm to help us to go from strength to strength is invaluable, and we look forward to hearing new opinions and experiences as we strive to achieve our Trust goals.”
The council was formed in October 2008 and currently consists of 25 governors, including public and staff elected members, together with people appointed to represent the interests of the local partner organisations. The new and returning governors will be formally welcomed at their full meeting on Thursday 19th December.
