Think twice before coming to Russells Hall Hospital’s A&E

Do you really need A&E? Our Emergency Department is very busy at the moment. If it’s not serious or life-threatening, call NHS 111 ️for free healthcare advice and to be directed to the most appropriate service for your needs.

Please think carefully before coming to A&E at Russells Hall Hospital unless you have a serious or life-threatening condition.

There’s a lot of pressure on our emergency services at the moment, so we are asking patients to use the NHS 111 telephone service, local pharmacists, walk in centres and their GPs rather than coming to the Emergency Department at Russells Hall Hospital.

We’re very busy so, if you do come to hospital with minor conditions, you may have a longer wait as the most poorly patients will be seen and treated first.
