Patients who have received excellent care at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust have the chance to nominate at the Trust’s annual staff awards.
The Patient Choice Award is a category in the annual Committed to Excellence Awards that recognises individuals and teams for their dedication and commitment to patient care.
Nominations are welcome from people who have been an inpatient at Russells Hall Hospital, attended an outpatient appointment or received treatment in the community or in their own homes. Or they may feel a member of staff has made a real difference to a loved one.

Last year, ward C5 staff nurse, Esme Whitehouse, and doctor, Simon Bill, received the 2022 Patient Choice Award after being nominated by a patient’s family for their exemplary care and compassion shown towards a patient who was at end of life.
When receiving their award, Esme and Simon said, “We are completely blown away. It’s incredibly special for this to have come from a patient’s family taking the time to reach out and nominate us for this honour.”
Chief executive for The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust Diane Wake said she was delighted to announce that the nominations were open.
“The Committed to Excellence Awards are always a highlight of the year and, as we celebrate the NHS’s 75th Birthday this year, it’s a brilliant chance to reflect on the hard work and the selfless dedication of our staff and volunteers.”
The closing date for nominations is midnight on Sunday 26th February 2023. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 16th June 2023.
