Dawn Wardell, Chief Nurse with The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust since June 2015, will be leaving on 31st March 2017 to take up a new role at NHS England West Midlands as Deputy Director of Nursing & Quality.
Dawn would like to acknowledge the contribution of all the nurses, midwives and wider staff that she has worked with over that time.
“I would like to thank all the staff for all their hard work and commitment especially over the difficult winter we have just experienced,” said Dawn.
“The compassionate care given to patients and their families that I have seen provided throughout the Trust is a credit to all of them and I wish the Trust well for the future. My new role will see me move into the world of commissioning, an area I am looking forward to gaining expertise within,” she added.
We are in the process of making interim arrangements for the role of Chief Nurse while we make plans for a substantive replacement. We will advise staff and stakeholders of the details of both the interim and permanent arrangements when they are finalised.
Trust Acting Chief Executive, Dr Paul Harrison said, “I would like to personally thank Dawn for all her hard work over the last two years. I wish Dawn the very best in her new role at NHSE.”
