Discover Employee Self Service!
All staff at Dudley, both substantive and bank staff, will have access to the Employee Self Service (ESS) platform.
ESS is an online platform that will enable you to access your personal employment data all in the same place. This includes mandatory training reports, payslips and your equality & diversity information. You can update your personal information through ESS too, which will update our employee staff records automatically.
And for the first time, you will also be able to access your pension information through the ESS platform.
Who can access the new platform?
All substantive and bank staff will have access. Furthermore, any applicants who have been successful and have moved to “offer accepted” on ESR will be able to access the platform and update their personal information.
How do staff access the ESS platform?

Staff will also be able to access the portal via an icon on their desktop screen which will appear when they sign in to any Trust-issued device.
The first time they click the icon, they will see the following option appear:
Please select ‘Unlock Account’ and then type in your @nhs.net email address and date of birth.
If these details match what we have in the system, you will receive an email from the ESR Service Desk with login details and instructions.
Once you have received this email, you will need to “Reset your Password”.
Please Note: Password requirements are a minimum of 8 characters, to not contain any part of your name or surname, to not contain special characters such as “!%$() and to not contain more than 3 sequential numbers or characters such as 123 or abc.
If the details do not match, you will need to contact dgft.esrqueries@nhs.net to update your email within the system.
How will the new platform support our equality, diversity and inclusivity measures?
Staff can accurately and confidentially record their equality & diversity (EDI) information within the system. Updating data in ESS will automatically update our ESR system. EDI information includes ethnic Origin, Sexual orientation, religion and disability information.
