 What is NHS Big Tea?

The NHS Big Tea is an annual fundraising and awareness campaign with the aim of celebrating the NHS birthday, this year this will be from 1-5 July and will recognise the vital work of NHS charities in supporting our health service.

In hospitals, in homes and in local communities across the country, everyone who loves the NHS is encouraged to come together with friends, family and colleagues to host a tea party and ‘raise a cuppa’ to the NHS.

The campaign was established by NHS Charities Together in 2018 to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS, with more than 4,000 parties taking place across the UK. Over £250,000 was raised for NHS charities. In addition, the campaign also generated substantial media coverage and publicity. Now entering its sixth year, this summer’s NHS Big Tea celebration will be extra special as we celebrate 76 years of the NHS.

The Dudley Group NHS Charity are encouraging our staff, local communities and businesses to organise a tea party by sharing a pot of tea with colleagues at work, raising a cuppa of the nation’s favourite brew at a place of worship or sports club, taking a flask outside with friends and family, popping the kettle on at home or rallying the whole street with a brew, biscuits, and bunting! Take five, donate £5.
