The Dudley Group NHS charity is back with its 5k Superhero Fun Run and Family Fun Day, taking place on Sunday 9th June at Himley Hall and Park.
The Trust charity, which supports patients, families and staff across Russells Hall Hospital, Corbett and Guest Outpatient centres and other community sites is inviting the public to dress as their favourite superheroes and join healthcare staff for the event.
Funds raised on the day will be in aid of the charity’s Children’s Appeal which supports the Trust’s young patients during their hospital stays.
Last year the event raised an incredible £5,000 and this year they are hoping for the event to be even bigger with even more runners and attendees from across the Dudley Borough!
Trust chief executive Diane Wake said: “Hospitals can be a scary place, especially for children in our care. “The funds raised for our Children’s Appeal will help provide the best possible environment to our patients and their families.
“Ongoing contributions allow us to enhance the wellbeing and experience of our patients and staff by providing services and facilitates not routinely funded by the NHS or our trust.”
Registration is from 10.30am and the race will commence at 11am. The event is being supported by PureGym, Dudley Kingswinford Running Club and Black Country Radio. There will also be children’s activities including a fun fair, a variety of stalls, vendors and refreshments, all available until 3pm.
The event is free to attend and entry for the fun run is £10 for adults and £5 for under 12s. The public can sign up by visiting the Dudley Group NHS Charity website: 5K Superhero Fun Run and Fun Day! – The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust (dgft.nhs.uk)
