People who suffer with Rheumatoid Arthritis are invited to an event at Russells Hall Hospital to find out about advances in symptom management, new types of treatment and how they can receive support with their condition.
The event, is being run by the Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group to mark their 10th anniversary as a support group.
It will give patients, their relatives and carers the opportunity to hear from clinicians, nurse specialists and members of the support group.
The event is hosted by group founder Edith Fones and speakers at the event in the Lecture Theatre include consultant rheumatologists Dr Rainer Klocke, Dr Rav Sandhu and Dr Karen Douglas and clinical nurse specialist Steph Mole as well as rheumatology specialist physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
“We would like to encourage as many people to come along and find out about how they can play a part in our support group and help us raise funds for the Trust’s rheumatology service,” said Edith Fones.
Dr Klocke said the event is a good opportunity to encourage new members to join the support group and celebrate their achievements over the past 10 years.
“The Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group has been instrumental in being a voice for all our patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis,” he said.
The event will take place on Friday 23rd June from 12noon until 4pm in the Clinical Education Centre at Russells Hall Hospital Pensnett Road, Dudley, DY1 2HQ. Light refreshments will be served during the afternoon.
