The Dudley Group’s chaplaincy service welcomed the Bishop of Dudley and local faith leaders to Russells Hall Hospital to launch the Dudley Borough Interfaith Network (DBIN) ‘Made to be One’ campaign.
The bishop launched the campaign by speaking of the importance of different faith groups being understanding and tolerant of each other.
“As we approach the celebration of Christmas, we join as leaders of the different faiths in Dudley, each of us hoping for peace.
“From our different faith groups we commit ourselves to making Dudley a place where all people can live in peace together.”
The bishop, Rt Rev Graham Usher, was also joined by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Margaret Aston and DBIN chair Rev Andrew Wickens.
Guests signed a pledge to stand together in peace and received a wrist band featuring the slogan ‘We are made to be one in Dudley’
DBIN works to build relationships and understanding between people of all faiths and none, and to support faith communities in acting together for the benefit of the whole community.
