Our Russells Hall Hospital visitor car parks will be using Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) from March 2025.

This means you will no longer need a physical ticket which will allow better movement of traffic in and out of our car parks and will make your visits to the hospital much smoother.

There will be pay terminals at each of our site entrances or you can pay in advance via the App. For those who are exempt from paying for parking please visit our FAQs ANPR FAQs.

The parking charges per visit are:

  • Up to 15 minutes – free
  • Up to 30 minutes – £3.00
  • Up to 1 hour – £3.30
  • Up to 1 hour and 30 minutes – £3.80
  • Up to 2 hours – £4.30
  • Up to 3 hours – £4.80
  • Up to 5 hours – £5.80
  • Up to 6 hours – £6.30
  • Up to 24 hours – £7.50

The charges apply to all visitor car parks at Russells Hall Hospital, Corbett Outpatient Centre and Guest Outpatient Centre.

If you require a receipt at any time, place your ticket in the machine and press the ‘receipt’ button. If you require assistance at any time press the help button.

A limited amount of free parking is available for patients attending treatment in the Oncology (C4) and Renal departments three times a week or more for an extended period. Cards should be returned for the period of recovery between treatments to enable accessibility to as many patients as possible.  These parking cards are issued following the completion of a request form by the ward, and payment of a refundable deposit of £20 to the General Office who will issue the card, subject to availability. Cards should be returned to the General Office for refund of deposit.

Blue Badge holders

Disabled blue badge holders at Russells Hall Hospital will be able to register their badge online against their vehicle registration. If they are going to use a different vehicle, then this can be added online; or on the day of the visit the badge can be scanned at the payment machine and a registration added.

Parking is free for Blue Badge holders on all our visitor car parks at Corbett and Guest. If you are a Blue Badge holder, please show your Blue Badge in the windscreen of your vehicle for the duration of your visit and at the exit barrier, press the “I” intercom button and show security your Blue Badge who will then lift the barrier.

Save money on parking with a value card

Limited value cards are available to patients and visitors (excluding those attending Urgent Care Centre) who visit the hospital at least three times a week over an extended period. They are available at a fixed seven day fee of £15.00 plus a £20.00 refundable deposit. Value cards provide unlimited parking on the visitor car park for seven consecutive days, but do not guarantee a space.

To purchase a value card, ask a member of staff on the ward or department you are visiting for more information.

Once purchased, these cards are non refundable.

Please be aware that value cards are subsidised by the Trust and there is only a limited number of these available.

Do you claim benefits?

Patients (excluding those who visit the Urgent Care Centre) in receipt of certain benefits may claim for car parking charges, travel fares and petrol costs. For more information, contact General Office at Russells Hall Hospital.

Parking charges

Parking charges apply to all patients and visitors, excluding those with blue disabled parking permits.

Please note that the Trust operates a fixed penalty scheme to ensure the safe and continued operation of the hospital sites.

In order to avoid any problems, penalties will be applied to all vehicles, including Blue Badge holders, who park vehicles:

  • On or in a red lined area
  • On a pavement or pedestrian walkway
  • In disabled bays when not displaying the required disabled Blue Badge
  • Preventing access for emergency vehicles, emergency exits, deliveries and other vehicles
  • In drop-off spaces for longer than the stated time
  • On grass verges or soft landscaped areas

Fixed penalties require the driver of the vehicle to pay a £70 charge (reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days) and are enforced by the Security Department.
